About

From actuarial science to sports modeling, with a few detours along the way.

I'm a data scientist and statistician specializing in risk quantification and probability assessment. I currently work for FanDuel as a senior data scientist on the Sports Modeling and Innovation team.

My educational background is in actuarial science and applied statistics, and my work has crossed insurance, professional sports, consumer packaged goods, and betting. The common thread is modeling uncertainty clearly enough that it can support real decisions.

I write here about things I am trying to understand more deeply. The posts are usually technical, sometimes narrow, and often written because working through the idea in public helps sharpen it.

Beyond work, I am a husband and father who enjoys going for walks with my family, cooking, and mowing the lawn.
